My last year at IT BHU was when I
met the love of my life, Debu. She was doing her graduation at
Women's college in BHU. We met at a fete organized by IT BHU
students and we clicked from the first meeting. We had some
wonderful time together in Varanasi and before I realized, my
term at IT BHU was over. She has been a part of my life since
then.
My First Job was with a software services company called Interra
Technologies Pvt. Ltd. I was in Interra for close to two years
and learned my first lessons of professional life. In
retrospect, I can say I did fairly well at Interra. I mostly
worked in Bug fixing and development (using Microsoft
Technologies) for an ERP Financial system. I had the opportunity
of working with some wonderful guys like Manish Das, Ravi Kapoor,
Depti Kalyan Saha, Saikat Sen, Sankalp Gaggar, Awanti Singh,
Ruchita Sharma and Manish Kumar at Interra. I learned something
or the other from each of these guys! I still remember my Shimla
trip with Manish and Rajdeep...Interra was as much fun as work,
if not more! Debu, in the meanwhile, had joined Institute of
Productivity and Management (IPM), Meerut, for her MBA. This
brought us within 80 Kms from each other and we were soon
meeting whenever we could take out time.
I switched over to my present job at Talisma Corporation in
Bangalore in June, 2000. Working for the Professional Services
division of a product company was a very different experience
and I relished every moment of it. Project Management,
Functional \ Technical analysis and CRM consultancy - all of
this was new and exciting - something I always wanted to do.
High point of my career came when I started traveling
extensively in my job at Professional Services, both domestic
and International. I traveled to a number of countries in Europe
on official assignments. Foreign travel opened my eyes to a
whole new world. I made a few good friends during the course of
work in UK. Sean O' Connell - honest and simple guy, a good
friend, Steve - work mate, good lad, Richard - simple and jolly
natured, James - fun loving and a great sense of humor.
Year 2003 was one of the most important years in my journey of
life. I got married to the love of my life, Debjani. Immediately
after my marriage, I took transfer to Talisma (Europe) in and
have been here in England since then. Living in Europe has its
own charms - one can never get enough of the abundant natural
beauty, rich, diverse cultures and vast history spanning the
numerous countries of Europe - you just want to go on and on and
keep exploring!
I am satisfied with the way things have worked out in my
life...There is still a lot to be done and goals to be
achieved..."The woods are lovely, dark and deep/ But I have
promises to Keep/ and miles to go before I sleep/ and miles to
go before I sleep...".
Why a website for myself?
I have always been vocal about what I feel. However, I always
felt a need to tell more about my life and people who made a
difference to my life. My family and friends know me well but I
would never be able to express my gratitude to them for being a
part of my life. This site is a humble attempt to tell the world
what they mean to me. I also hope to give some insight about
myself to all who would want to know about me.
Dreams unlimited!
Music is one of my passions. I am interested in both classical
and modern music - Indian and western. Unfortunately, I cannot
sing. Actually, I am a horrible singer (though I would never
admit!). I want to be able to sing at least as good as not to
make people want to throw up!
I want to own a company of mine one day. There is lot of
homework that I need to do before I venture into something. Need
to gain invaluable industry experience , before I start toying
seriously with idea of my own company. |
