Life is a journey...and we
leave footsteps behind!
Want to know more about me? Well, this is the place...To briefly
describe my past, I was born on Feb 13th, 1976 in Lucknow
(India) to my loving parents, Triveni and Santosh Kumar Bajpai.
I am the youngest of three brothers with a sister younger to me.
My father always believed in good education for his children, no
matter what pains he had to go through to ensure our academic
well being. I studied from std I to std X at Seventh Day
Adventist High school, Lucknow (India). I took up Computer
science as a subject from std VII, when it was introduced for
the first time in school. Did fairly well in the later period of
time in school and was always among the top three in my class. I
was made the house captain for my house (Yellow - St.Davids
house) in school. Being friendly by nature, I made some really
close friends at SDA High school. Rahul - the guy with a halo;
Ashish - the whiz kid at mathematics; Vipin, Manish, Vishal,
Anil - all cool guys.
Having secured a decent score in my High school exams, I joined
Christ Church College, Lucknow (India) for std XI and XII. At
CCC, I discovered my passion - computers! I was spending most of
my time in the computer lab developing all kinds of software
possible in the computer language 'Basic'. I represented my
school in various competitions, winning prizes in a few of them.
I met Amit in the computer lab. He was a junior and had the same
passion for computers. Soon we were close friends. Sorabh and
Chaitanya were two great guys I met at CCC. Sorabh was a child
prodigy - had already played cricket for Rajasthan (India) and
was a genius at mathematics. Chaitanya is a simple and studious
guy. They are still my close buddies!
Year 1993 and first two quarters of 1994 was
the anxious period of my life. I had decided that I'll do
Engineering from a primer institute in India and took tuitions
to prepare for the engineering entrance examinations the IIT JEE
(Joint Entrance Examination for admission to IITs and IT BHU). I
qualified JEE and took admission for B.Tech course in Mining
Engineering at IT BHU. This was also the year I met Vishal, who
is one of my close friends now. He seemed slightly eccentric in
the beginning, but I never doubted his caliber.
Four years at IT BHU were the building years of my life. I met
some wonderful people who are now a part of my life. Pradeep and
Sagar were two of my classmates with whom I spent most of my
time in IT BHU. I never really cared about studies,
nevertheless, managed some decent scores. I was always involved
in extra curricular activities in the institute and held various
positions in the institute level events. It was here that I got
the chance and time to nurture by interests and indulge in my
hobbies. I was interested in quizzing and participated (won
prizes too!) in different quizzes. I did a lot of reading during
these four years and really improved on my written and spoken
English. I have a voracious interest in reading, ranging from
comics like Astrix and Tintin to philosophical literature from
writers like Richard Bach, Salman Rushdie and Ayn Rand. My
closest friends Kaku, Thulla, Vinee, Mahua are all from BHU.
Their friendship is a cherished gift that I carried with me from
BHU.
